Abstract

|
Effectiveness of flubendazole, a newly introduced anthelmintic in Korea, was evaluated in 3E Trichuris trichiura infections. All patients were orally given flubendazole 500mg single dose. Stools were examined before and 4 weeks after the administration of flubendazole.
After flubendazole treatment, the cure rate was 86.3% (33 cases were cured among 38 infections), and the egg reduction rate was 90.3%, respectively. These results suggest the excellent effect´veness of flubendazole in treating T. trichiura infections.
